Managing Lockers
Combination Cycles
Setup>Schools>School Parameters>Lockers>Combinations
- You have two different options to help you control the locker combination cycle currently being used
- Option 1 - Allows you to select any combination cycle and will update all lockers in the school to use the selected cycle (best used to get all lockers on the same combination cycle)
- Option 2 - This will move all locker combinations cycles up one from its currently selected combination cycle (best used if lockers are on varying combination cycles and you would like to retain this variation)

Using Core Import to Mass Update Locker Assignments and/or Combinations
You can use Core>Import to update this info as well, through 2 different templates.
We just recommend that you test the update first with one line of data to make sure it looks okay before doing a mass import of all kids etc.
It's always best to test things out first!
If you have questions, please give the Genesis help desk a call first.
Student Locker Numbers
If you have an excel with School Year, Student IDs (Local IDs), and Locker Numbers, you can use the "Student" template found in Core>Import.
STEP 1, Select STUDENT DATA.
STEP 2, Select STUDENT.
There is a LOT of info in this template.
The primary keys of "School Year" and "Student ID" are required. Every other column, except for Locker, should be completely removed from the template before importing.
STEP 3, enter info into the template for your 3 columns: SCHOOL YEAR, STUDENT ID, AND LOCKER.
STEP 4, import the info via Core>Import.
Again: we just recommend that you test the update first with one line of data to make sure you do not erroneously update all kids with bad info etc when importing.
Locker Info
If you happen to have locker setup information in an excel file, you can use a template from Core>Import to update this information.
STEP 1, select SETUP.
STEP 2, select LOCKER. Download the template and take a look if it'll work.
STEP 3, import the info via Core>Import.
This template will not update students' lockers, but it can update locker numbers, combinations etc.
