Overview of Fonts

The Fonts available in Genesis are managed on the Core>Fonts screen. Genesis comes with a basic set of standard fonts. Districts can also upload True Type Font (.TTF) files in order to create additional font types in the system. Uploaded fonts become available for use immediately, in various places throughout Genesis where Font is selectable.

Core>Fonts lists the three Fonts delivered with Genesis (Courier, Helvetica and Times-Roman).  It also includes controls that allow you to upload any True Type Font file or any Open Type Font file:

Imported fonts can be used right away in Genesis in areas where printable documents are generated, such as: Letters, Labels, and Report Writer

Adding a New Font to Genesis

To add a new font to the system, you must obtain the True Type Font file for the font.

1. First, go to the Core>Fonts screen.  The font you need may already be listed here.
2. Click the  button to bring up the File Chooser.
3. Browse for the file and select the file from your computer.
4. Click the  button to load the new font into the system.
5. The new Font name and original filename should be listed with the other installed fonts.

Are there Suggested Fonts?

Genesis does not have a list of suggested font files to import into the system.  We recommend downloading from a trusted source such as Google's list of free fronts which can be accessed here: https://fonts.google.com

Always test newly imported fonts before generating official documents with new Fonts selected.
