81352 Immunization Alert Report
Overview
This report creates Alert notifications based on student's Immunization records in Genesis. These alerts are based upon the minimum immunization requirements for school attendance in NJ.
If you see an alert for a student, you should manually check that students records to make sure they meet the minimum requirements.
The report will look at Immunization doses recorded in each students immunization tab.
In order for an immunization dose to count towards the reports requirements, that immunization must be tied to a corresponding Vaccine Code in Genesis.
Those ties can be viewed in the Nurse > Setup > Codes > Vaccines drop down.
The Immunizations the report will create alerts for are Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Tdap, Polio, MMR, Haemophilus B (HIB), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Pneumococcal, Meningococcal, and Influenza.

FAQ:
Question: If a student transfers into a new school district in Grade 7, is the school district required to obtain evidence of that students Meningococcal vaccine?
Answer: Yes, he/she would still need to meet this requirement in the higher grade levels. All children born on or after January 1, 1997 attending or transferring into a NJ school at grade six or higher grade level from another district, state or country are subject to the meningococcal vaccine requirement. This also applies to the Tdap requirement.
Question: What about the Varicella vaccine? If a student transferred into a school district after grade 1, would the district be required to obtain evidence of the vaccine?
Answer: All children, born on or after January 1, 1998 and who are at least 19 months of age or older and attending a New Jersey school is required to receive one dose of varicella vaccine. This applies to all transfer students, both out of state/ out of country and those transferring from another school district within the state.
Question: What about if the student did not transfer in but the vaccine requirements were overlooked? Now that the student is in 3rd grade, for example, does the district still need to require a Varicella vaccine? Same question for an 7th grader and his Meningococcal vaccine.
Answer: Yes, if a child's vaccine requirements were overlooked they would need to fulfill the requirements ASAP.
