Using the Student Data>Mass Change Tab

Modified on Tue, May 9, 2023 at 10:23 AM

You can mass update certain student data fields using student lists from the Student Data>Mass Change screen.

  • In Step 1, Select your student list.  If you do not have one, you will need to create a list.
  • In Step 2, Select the data field you would like to update for all kids in your selected list.  Click the dropdown and you will see all available options.

There are built-in selections, as well as your custom User Flags and User Texts.

User Flags are indicated with a * and User Texts are indicated with a +.

Once you have made your selections, they will appear in red.  Toggle the "Apply to students that do not have a value already" option on or off depending on what you want this update to do to student's current data in the field.

For example, if you want to overwrite existing data, uncheck "Apply to students that do not have a value already."  If you want to just update students who have blank values in the field currently, check off the "Apply to students that do not have a value already" option.

When you have made your selections, click APPLY CHANGES.

TIP:

There are also templates available in Core>Import to mass update specific data tables. Reach out to the help desk or enter a ticket with specific questions on this process.

Additionally, for some NJ Smart / State updates, we have tools available for mass updates via NJ>NJSmart>Tools.
