Lunch Applications

Lunch applications can be created, viewed, and processed from the Student Data>Lunch tab.

Searching for and Processing Lunch Applications

By default the search screen will search for all applications with a status of Pending.

Unless otherwise set, all applications will have a Pending status until processed.

Search will also allow you to pull up just the applications that were created in Parents Module by toggling the Parent Submitted Online field.

Clicking on either the application number or modify icon will open up the lunch application.

Navigating through the FORM, STUDENTS and INCOME tab will show you all of the information that was entered during the application process.

Form:

Students:

Income:

The calculate tab is where you determine eligibility for the application.

The screen will pinpoint where in the income guide a family's application falls.

Based on that income, Genesis will present you with a "New Suggested Lunch Record" column.
If a application qualifies for Free Lunch then the FI lunch code will be shown, same with reduced or denied etc.

In addition to calculating by income, Genesis will also calculate based on whether a student is Foster, Homeless Migrant Runaway and present you with the appropriate lunch code to select.

These lunch codes are suggested based how the students record's should appear in the Master Eligibility Report.

You may of course, opt to enter a code other than what Genesis selects.

Once satisfied you have selected the proper Start Date and Lunch for the record(s), you may hit the CREATE button to create the students Lunch Tracking Records and update the Status of the application from Pending to that of the Lunch Code selected.

If the application was submitted through the parent portal, the status will be viewable in Parent Modules as either Free, Reduced or Denied.
