Phys Ed - 4 Quarters with 1 Dropped Out

Prerequisites

  • Phys Ed is a Full Year Course
  • Phys Ed meets 3 out of 4 quarters
  • 1 Quarter is dropped out for (usually) health.
  • School does not use a rotating schedule.

Configure the Phys Ed course

In the Next Year Scheduling.Curriculum.Modify Course tab; set the following fields in the Scheduling Related area of the screen:

Choose the health (or other) course that will be placed in the quarter that will be dropped out.

Course Length

Full Year

The length of the Phys Ed course must be Full Year.

Do not set the inclusion course link field.  Setting a course in this field will confuse the Master Class Schedule Builder.

n the Next Year Scheduling.Curriculum.Modify Course tab; set the following fields in the Scheduling Related area of the screen:

How the master schedule builder uses this information

  1. The Schedule Builder will construct the sections for the Phys Ed course first. 
  2. The health course will then be constructed immediately after the Phys Ed course.
  3. The health sections will be created as copies of the phys ed sections; except with the proper dropout quarter.
  4. Rooms and teachers will then be assigned as usual
