Custom Grades are used to give students grades that deviate from the preset scales.
- ie: In Genesis High School the scale of 93-100 is equal to an 'A'. In an out-of-district school the scale of 91-100 is equal to an 'A'. There is a transfer student from said out-of-district school who has a transfer grade of a 92.
- Genesis High School wants to post the '92' AND an 'A' for that student. The preset scale at Genesis High School will not allow you to do this, but using a Custom Grade will.
Grading->Setup->Valid Grades->Numeric Grades
- Check the 'Allow Custom Grades' box to enable the use of Custom Grades in the currently selected school and save your changes (this will not effect other schools in the district)
Student Data->Modify Student->Grades
- When adding or editing a student's grade you will now see the ability to use the 'Custom Grade'
- Say 'Yes' to 'Custom Grade' and click 'modify'
- With Custom Grades enabled you can enter any numeric/alpha combo and the system will no longer correct/override what you have entered to follow the preset scale
