New Staff visits can only be created on the Nurse>Visits>New Visits screen:

If the Staff tab does not appear, your security roles lack the nurse.visits.staff Securable Location.
Please ask your system administrator for to add this to your permissions.
To search for students or staff members (depending on which tab is selected), enter a first name or last name - or the first few characters of a name - into the Last Name and/or First Name fields and click Search.
This will bring up all matching individuals:

Click the CREATE VISIT button for the individual you wish to create a visit for. This will bring up the "Visit Details" screen.
The student version of the "New Visit" screen displays additional information about students:

This works the same way as the staff version of the screen, with just a few additional fields of information.
Click the Create Visit button for the student you wish to create a visit for. This will bring up the "Visit Details" screen
Searching Nurse Visits
The nurse visit Search screen is general purpose 'visits search' screen optimized to show you the students and staff members who are in the nurses' office right now.
You search via Nurses>Visits>Search Visits:

Staff members in the list are identified by the word Staff before their name.
Students are easily identified by the presence of additional information (Grade, Homeroom, and Gender).
Default Behavior
By default - without you needing to enter any search criteria - this screen automatically finds all open visits, that is, all individuals (students and staff) whose visit record indicates they are in the nurses' office right now.
"The nurses' office" means, 'individuals who have had a visit created for them in the currently selected school TODAY'.
Search Criteria
In order of importance, the search criteria on this screen include:
- Visit Status - Open or Closed or Both
- Nurse - A specific nurse or "All Nurses" assigned to the school.
- Visit Date - A specific date or "the entire school year" when blank.
- Disposition - What happened to the individual when they left the nurses' office (e.g. 'returned to class', 'went home')

Nurse Check-In
The Nurse Check-In screen allows users to quickly log students into Nurse Visits.
This screen allows you to search for any student in your currently selected school, at the top of the screen, by last name or student ID.
Once a student is selected you can pick a reason for the visit and the student will become checked in with an open nurse visit.
From this screen, If you search for a student that is already checked into a nurse visit, you will be given the option to check that student out of the visit.
Like the Attendance Check-In and Turnstile you can utilize bar code scanners to checks students into the Nurse's office from this screen.
The keyboard on this screen is also larger to allow easy use on touch screen computers.
Districts have setup terminal computers in the Nurse's office to allow students to check themselves in.
If you do this we recommend creating a new user in the system with the sole purpose of utilizing this Nurse Check-In screen, so the user does not have access to any other screens in Genesis.
All nurse visits created by this check-in screen can be found via Nurses>Visits>Search Visits
