The purpose of this screen is to export and import data from a Genesis sandbox/test server into production. These tools can also assist in copying data from a previous school year, or between schools within the district.
It is located on the Next Year Scheduling>Mass Schedule>Import/Export tab.
The district must contact Genesis Support to use this screen.
Export
Export X School 202X-2X Scheduling Data
This tool will exports Scheduling data from your Genesis Server. You may then load this data into another server with the export tool below.
This tool can be used if you have a sandbox/test Genesis server and you would like to import data from one server to another.
The following data will be exported when run:
- Courses
- Course Sections
- Course Subsections
- Student Schedules
- Print Periods
- Bell Periods (rotations)
- School Scheduling Cycles (from Setup > School > School Parameters > Scheduling)
Import
Import X School Scheduling Data
This tool will import Scheduling data into your Genesis Server.
Import will DELETE and REPLACE the existing data on your server with what is in the file.
The import will OVERWRITE any of the following data when importing (depending on which tables you choose to import):
- Courses
- Course Sections
- Course Subsections
- Student Schedules
- Print Periods
- Bell Periods (rotations)
- School Scheduling Cycles (from Setup > School > School Parameters > Scheduling)
