Signing Up for Clubs via the Parent Module

The Club Sign-up Question Type for Parent Forms

The "Current Year Club Participation (2023-24)" Response Type has been added to Parent Forms.  A simple, sample form demonstrating the use of this Response Type is available to download from this article.  


E.g. here is a sample question using the Current Year Club Participation (2023-24) Response Type:

This Response Type will roll over from year to year - it will always apply to sign ups for "this school year":  you cannot use it in the Spring for the following school year.


Locate this Response Type in the "Clubs" section of Response Types drop down:


Club SIgn-up Appearance in the Parent/Student Module


This Response Type presents the student/parent filling in the form with a list of all of the school's clubs.  Clubs the student is currently signed up for are identified with a green checkmark.  Clubs that require administrative approval are identified:

Multiple clubs can be checked.  The responses are submitted when the form is submitted (and not simply when the question is answered).


What Happens When a Student Signs Up Online?

Clubs Not Requiring Administrative Approval

For clubs that do not require administrative approval, the club record or records are immediately added to student's "Clubs" screen:

The student immediately appears on the club roster without a membership setting or a club id number:


Clubs Requiring Administrative Approval

For clubs that require administrative approval, the club immediately appears on the student's Clubs screen but is shown as "requested" instead of 'no approval needed':

They are identified as not yet particiapting.


The student immediately appears on the club roster, but without a join date, membership setting or a club id number:


The student also appears on the club's "Activity Administrator" screen but is shown as not (yet) participating:


The student appears on the club's Dashboard but is identified as not participating:

 

Finally, and most importantly, the student's request to join the club appears on the Approve Club Requests screen (School Clubs->Students->Approve Club Requests):
