The Student Overlap screen will show you Turnstile event check ins that overlap with other students.  The purpose is to show you students who frequently check into the same locations as other students.

The search form allows you to select length of time to analyze for overlaps as well as other filters.  Here is a list of search filters currently available for the screen.

Search form and the results

Figure 1 - Search form and the results

The search results will display pairings of students who meet the criteria from the search form.  The first 2 columns are used to show the students along with the number of times that student appears in the search results.  This means that student can appear multiple times in the results as long as they have overlapping check ins with multiple students.  For instance, in the above screenshot, you can see that student "Jessie Airen" is listed in the first 2 rows.  This is because this student has the minimum total overlapping check ins with 2 students.

The “Total” column is the total number of overlapping check ins the 2 students have together.

After the “Total” column, each day of the time period selected is shown with the number of overlapping check ins for that day.  If you click on the number of check ins for a day, a more detailed view will appear.  In this view, you will see the events that the students checked into as well as the classes that they were in at the time.  In addition, other similar check ins will also appear in this view.

Analyze Student

If you click student’s name on the results screen, you will be brought to an Analyze Student screen. This screen will show you check in information about the student during the time period selected as well as the other students who have overlapping check ins.

Figure 3 - Analyze Student

At the top of the screen, the students’ total check ins for each event are listed as well as the time missed for each of the students’ classes.

Below that, a summary is shown for each of the students who qualified for the results with the student.  This summary displays the overlapping events that they checked into with the student.

The last bit of information that you see is a section called “Similar Check ins Detail”.  This displays all of the days that the students had overlapping check ins.  For each of those days, the screen shows you the check ins for the student and the other students along with the details of those check ins.
