How to Test Student Letters

Modified on Fri, Jan 12 at 1:48 PM

In order for our test to be successful, you must have data. The test will come back with an empty document if you do not have any student fine data in your system.

To test your letter, you can either lick on the Test tab from within the letter (Student Data>Letters>Setup>Modify>Test):

Or click on the Test icon if you are on the Student Letters>Setup>List setup screen:

The test may take a moment (or two, or three) depending on how much data is in your system. Be patient, on very large databases, this tab can easily take 1 or 2 minutes to come up.

Resist the urge to click on the tab multiple times; it will make the process take a lot longer.

The end result should be a multi-page acrobat PDF file containing all of your letters. Your "Test" will display the first 10 letters. Below is a "Homeroom Notification" sample letter:

After you have tested your letters and they look good to go, you can generate them.
