Grade Drop Maintenance

We added a new "Grade Drop" tool via Grading>GPA/Rank>Grade Drop.

Grade Drop Information:

• This tool allows you to set one of a student's MP grades for a course to 'Ignore in FG Calculation'. When FGs are calculated, these marked grades will be skipped. All other grades making up the course Final Grade will be scaled up to derive the FG.
• Grade Drop Maintenance will not work with FG Linked Courses
• Grade Drop Maintenance will mark the lowest grade out of the selected MPs below. Choose a single MP to always drop that MP grade.
• When running method "Set student's lowest MP grade...to 'Ignore in FG Calculation'", Grade Drop Maintenance will first CLEAR all 'Ignore in FG Calculation' grades from selected courses.
• For numeric grade systems, function will look at the weighted numeric grade score (if available) when determining lowest grade.
• For alpha only grade systems, function will look at the QPs from Grading->Setup->Valid Grades->Alpha Grades to determine lowest grade.
• A student must have two or more MP grades for a course in order for one to be marked 'Ignore in FG Calculation'.
• Grade Drop Maintenance will run even if a student does not yet have all of their required grades to calculate a FG posted.
• You may REMOVE 'Ignore in FG Calculation' from grades by choosing the "Remove 'Ignore in FG Calculation' flag from student grades..." method.
• YOU NEED TO REPOST GRADES IN THE MAINTENANCE TAB TO UPDATE FINAL GRADES AFTER YOU RUN GRADE DROP MAINTENANCE
