Class linkages allow you to link one course section to another so when a student is scheduled and they have requests for both courses, they receive a specific section.
You can set this up via Next Year Scheduling>Setup>Linkage.
- Every course link you create ends up making 2 link definitions. One for Course Section A to Course Section B and one for Course Section B to Course Section A.
- In order for the system to honor the class linkage, the students need requests for both courses.
- A class linkage can create scheduling conflicts for students. Each linkage is a rule for the scheduler to follow, so if the linkage rules are set up poorly, it can cause more conflicts and fewer students will have full schedules.
- A "Copy In Last Year's Linkages" now appears on the Next Year Scheduling>Setup>Linkage screen if no linkages exist in current school year. Hitting button will copy in all of the linkages that existed for this school in the previous school year.
