The Student Data>Modify Student>Class Attendance tab consists of three different screens.
The screens are By Section View, By Period View, and Course Totals.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
By Period View
This screen is the default screen that you come to when you click on the Class Attendance tab.
You are able to select any month during the school year in order to see a month long view of the students class attendance.
It is important to note, that only classes that are marked to Take Attendance will be shown on this screen.
In order to take attendance for a student, simply select the class attendance code from the attendance code drop down's.
You can propagate the class attendance across the student's schedule by hitting the >> link on the student's first period of the day.
Once you have selected the attendance, simply click on the Save button on the bottom of the screen.
It is also possible to take Daily Attendance from here as well.
If you have the proper security, simply click on the Daily Attendance code that is on the left hand side of the screen.
This will pop open a window from which you can select a Daily Attendance Code.
By Section View
The By Section View screen will show you a student's class attendance throughout the school year on a calendar that displays the entire year.
This only shows one section at a time and it shows you courses that are marked to Take Attendance.
This screen has 2 great features that make it very useful:
- Dropped courses will also appear in the course selection drop down making it possible to audit dropped courses
- When you put your mouse over any of the attendance codes in the legend on the right, the days that have this attendance code will be automatically highlighted.
Daily Schedule View
Course Totals
This screen breaks down a student's attendance for each course by semester.
You can see Unexcused, Excused and combined totals for both Tardies and Absences.
