The One Stop Shop Nurse Search Screen

The Nurses Search screen (Nurses>Student List>Student Search) is designed to be an easy and convenient place for nurses to work with students information outside of Nurse visits and Medications.

It provides a set of search criteria tailored to the needs of nurses and returns a list of students with a links which provide jumping off points to all parts of students' medical information.  

It also provides a way to mass update student records, mass print A45 forms and immunization data.

Search Criteria

The search criteria on this screen are tailored towards Nurses' needs:

General Search Criteria

  • First and Last names
  • Student ID
  • Student List - Finds all students on the selected list, or on the list who meet all additional criteria.
  • Gender - Finds all students of the selected gender.
  • Homeroom - Finds all students in the selected homeroom.
  • Course Section - Finds all students currently active in the selected course section.
  • Team - Finds all students on the selected scheduling Team.

Medication-Related Search Criteria

  • Is taking at least one Medication - If the "Medication" field Yes radio button is selected, the search will find all students who have at least one active Medication record (i.e. prescription)
  • Is not taking at least one Medication - If the "Medication" field No radio button is selected, the search will find all students who have no active Medications
  • Is taking this specific Medication - If there is a specific medication selected in the "Med. Type" drop down, all students with that specific Medication will be found.

Condition-Related Search Criteria

  • Has a Medical Condition - If the "Med. Condition" field Yes radio button is selected, the search will find all students who have at least one Medical Condition set on their Health Record screen.
  • Has no Medical Conditions - If the "Med. Condition" field No radio button is selected, the search will find all students who have no Medical Conditions at all set on their Health Record screen.
  • Has a specific Medical Condition - If there is a specific condition selected in the "Cond. Type" drop down, all students with that specific conditions will be found.

Visit-Related & Screening Search Criteria

  • Has more than X visits in the current year - If you enter a value (e.g. 10) in this field, all students with more than that number of visits in the current school year will be located.
  • Has not had a screening since <date> - Locates all students with no Screening record since the specified date.

Where To From Here?  Clickable Links in the Student List

This screen is designed to allow you to quickly get to any part of a student's medical record from the list displayed here.

  • Student ID - Clicking the Student ID takes you to the student's Health Record screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Health Record)
  • Alert Column Red Cross Icon - If there is a red cross icon, clicking it also takes you to the student's Health Record screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Health Record).  The tooltip gives you the "need to know" information in the "Text for Medical Icon" field.
  • Medications Column - Count - Clicking the count in the Medications column takes you to the student's Medications screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Medications)
  • Medications Column - New Link - Clicking the "New" link under Medications brings up the "Create Medication" screen so you can enter a new Medication for the student.
  • Visits Column - Count- Clicking the count in the Visits column takes you to the student's Nurse Visits screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Visits)
  • Visits Column - New Link - Clicking the "New" link under Visits creates a Nurse Visit for this student and brings up the "Modify Nurse Visit" screen.
  • Last Screening Column Date - Clicking the date in the Last Screening column brings up the student's Screenings screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Screenings)
  • PDF Form - Clicking the PDF icon in the column without a header brings up the student's A45 form.
  • Notes Column Icon - Clicking the icon in the Notes column brings up the student's Medical Notes screen (Student Data->Student->Medical->Notes)
  • Forms Column Icon - Clicking the magnifying glass icon in the Forms column takes you to the student's Athletics screen (Student Data->Student->Athletics) where their Physical Exam information and various athletics related forms are available,

Mass Operations

This screen is the jumping off point for the mass updating and mass printing of student information.   When a list of students is displayed there will be a "Use Results For" control at the bottom right corner of the screen.   This control lists the mass operations you can perform with the set of listed students:

To perform one of these operations, check the checkboxes for the students you wish to include (the master checkbox in the list header will toggle all of the checkboxes), select the operation from the Use Search Results For drop down, and click the Go button.

Quick Links on this Screen

In the upper right hand corner of the screen there is a "quick link" area:

If there are open Visits, they will be listed in the "Open Visits" drop down.  By selecting one of the visits, you are immediately brought to the Modify Visit screen for that visit.

If there are students with Medications scheduled to come into the office today, they will be listed in the Medications drop down.
