Genesis Setup

Parent Portal Settings:

  • In order to enable notifications users must first install Genesis to their Homescreen by navigating to the Install App link in the bottom of the navigation
    • On android/desktop users can click install to install the application
    • On iPhone users must hit the Share button, then select Add to Home Screen
  • Once it is installed, users must navigate to the push notification settings screen 
  • Within Parent Portal users will have to navigate to Settings -> Push Notifications (BETA) where they will see the following screen
    • Pressing Enable Notifications will prompt them to allow Genesis to send them notifications, accepting will refresh the page and the device will appear in the below table, with the current device highlighted in green
    • If users have not installed Genesis to their device, or their device does not allow push notifications, they will receive a warning informing them to install the application and that notifications do not work on their current device.
    • Additionally users can set up which areas they wish they wish to receive notifications for.
    • Enabling Notifications Manually highlights instructions for users as to how to enable notifications in the instance they declined the notification prompt, but now wish to activate notifications.
    • NOTE: Subscriptions re enable themselves after certain amount of time (dependent on devices) If a user was receiving notifications and is no longer receiving them, ensure that the user isn't experiencing this issue due to a problem resubscribing.
