"Membership Types" are Titles for Students

"Membership Types" are titles/roles such as "President" of a club or "Player" on a team, or "Captain' of the team.   Membership Types are maintained on the Setup->Districts->Master District Parameters->Activities->Membership Types screen:

You may have as many membership types as you would like.  Membership types can be used for sports, clubs or both.  They can be activated or deactivated.   Once they have been used at least once, they cannot be deleted.

Add a New Membership Type

1. Go to the Setup->Districts->Master District Parameters->Activities->Membership Types screen.
2. Click the "Add Membership Type" button.  This brings up the "Add Membership Type" dialog:
   
3. Enter the name of the new Membership Type.
4. Check the "For Sports" checkbox  or the "For Clubs" checkbox - or both.
5. Click the "Add Membership Type" button.   This adds the new Membership Type.

Update a Membership Type

You can change the name of a Membership Type or whether it is to be used for sports or clubs or both, or deactivate (or re-activate) it.   To update a Membership Type:

1. Go to the Setup->Districts->Master District Parameters->Activities->Membership Types screen.
2. Locate the Membership Type you wish to change.  E.g. 
3. Make your changes. Optionally:
   1. Update the name 
   2. Check or uncheck the "For Sports" checkbox
   3. Check or uncheck the "For Clubs" checkbox
   4. Uncheck or recheck the "Active" checkbox
4. Click the Save Membership Types button to save your changes.

Delete or Deactivate a Membership Type

You can only completely delete a Membership Type if it has not been used.   If it has been used, you can deactivate it to make it unavailable but you cannot delete it.  To delete or devate a Membership Type:

1. Go to the Setup->Districts->Master District Parameters->Activities->Membership Types screen.
2. Locate the Membership Type you wish to delete or deactivate.  E.g.  If there is no red 'delete' icon at the far right, the Membership Type cannot be deleted - you must deactivate it. If there is a red delete icon at the far right, you can delete OR deactivate the Membership Type:
3. To delete the Membership Type - that is, to remove it completely from the list - click the red delete icon. This brings up a confirmation dialog:
4. Click OK to delete the Membership Type and cancel to keep it.
5. If, instead, you want to deactivate the Membership Type, uncheck the checkbox at far right, scroll to the bottom of the list and click the Save Membership Types button.
