This screen sends out Broadcast messages. When a broadcast is created, it does the following:
- Goes through students contact records and sends out an email and/or text message to the contact based on settings below.
- If Custom Contact Flags have been configured in your District, they may be selected in the Send Options below.
- Be aware that many cell phone providers have a maximum message length of 160 characters.
- Duplicate messages will be eliminated when appropriate. If your message body contains a STUDENT macro, then ONE message will
be sent per contact address per student. Otherwise only one message per contact address will be sent. - The email will come from [email protected]. This can be changed on the Core - Email screen.
Please note that if you are using a macro, you must format the macro with <>. So, for example, if you want the broadcast message to display the student's name attached to the contact that you are sending the message to, you must enter <STUDENT_NAME> into the body of the message.
