An Attendance Kiosk Login

A "kiosk" login is a user that has a single screen and no other screen is available.  In this case, the attendance kiosk user would show only the "Attendance Check-In" screen.

The only action available is to check-in.

An Attendance Kiosk Role

The 'attendance kiosk role' is the role that includes only the single Securable Location that will provide access to the Attendance.Check-In screen (Attendance->Check-In->Check-In).   The Role consists of the one location attedance.checkin.checkin:

Procedure to Create an Attendance Kiosk Role

1. Go to the Setup->Security->Roles screen.
2. Click the "Add Role" button:
3. This brings up the "Add Role" dialog:
4. Enter the role name (no spaces) and the role's description (e.g. "Attendance Kiosk").
5. Click Add Role to add the Role.  This brings up the "Modify Role" screen:
6. Click the "Add Locations" button to add the single Securable Location you will need:  attendance.checkin.checkin
7. That's it!  You are done.  DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL SECURABLE LOCATIONS.

Procedure to Create an Attendance Kiosk Login

1. Go to the Setup->Security->Users screen.
2. Click the "Add User" button:
3. This brings up the "Add User" dialog:
4. Enter a login id (e.g. 'attendance_kiosk') and a strong password.  Add descriptive last and first names (e.g. "Attendance", "Kiosk").   Click "Add User".  This will bring up the full "Modify User" screen for the new kiosk user:

5. First, select your "attendance kiosk" role as the one Role for this user.

6. Second, select the "attendance check-in" Securable Location as the "Location" for this user.  This is the 'attendance.checkin.checkin' Securable Location.

7. Finally, check the "Enabled" checkbox.  

8. Optionally fill in the "Description" field.

8. No additional fields are required:  Click "Save" to store your updates to the new user.
