NEW: We added "Exam" as a new "Gradebook data entry parameter" to Views. This is an addition to the existing Year and Month parameters used for Data Views set with "Enable data entry in gradebook." When a teacher enters a score in Gradebook for this View, the score entered will be marked with the Exam parameter (if one exists) the same as that score is currently marked with the Month and Year parameters set on the View. |

Add a New Data View
The simplest way to export Test Scores from Assessments is to create a Data View.
This feature will allow you to create an Excel spreadsheet of Demographic information, along with Test Scores that you select from any of your Assessment imports.
Step 1
Once in Genesis, navigate to Assessments>Data Views
- Add a new Data View at the bottom of this screen and give it a name.
- Click "Add Data View"
Step 2
The Chart that reads "Cells" is where individual scores are added to the export.
- Click "Add Score Cell"
Step 3
- Search for the score you would like to add.
- You can do this by selecting the actual Assessment name that it is coming from, or searching by certain properties about the Assessment (test year, test name, etc).
- Click "Select"
Step 4
The tool will then display all scores that met your criteria.
- You can then add them by selecting a single score column, or multiple columns at once by using the chart below.
- Click "Add Cell(s)"
Step 5
This will bring you back to the Modify->Data View screen, where you can rename each score and how the headers will appear in the export.
- Once finished adding scores, click the "Update Snapshot" button, to collect the information for the export.
- You should click this every time you export the data, to ensure the most accurate information is displayed.
Step 6
- Go back to Assessments>Data Views
- Click on the Excel icon that corresponds to your Data View. It will prompt you to download a file.
- Click "Open" or "Save"
- Note: If a window does not pop up when excel icon is clicked, you may have to turn off your browser's pop-up blocker.
