Update Meets Cycles on Subsections

This tool is used to mass change the cycle days of your scheduling sections. This is helpful when a school is undergoing a cycle day pattern change. You can gather all subsections set to a specific meeting pattern (ex: 'ABCD') and mass update them to a new cycle day pattern (ex: '1234'). Doing so will modify the days in which the classes meet.

The example above shows a school who is updating all subsections that are currently set to M,T,W,R,F (Monday thru Friday). "MTWRF" has been entered into the From Meets Cycle field to handle this. The To Meets Cycle field is used to indicate what to change the sections to (ex: 'ABCD'). Note: In this scenario, classes that meet only 'MWF' or only meet 'Mondays' for example, would NOT be updated using this example. If only "M" is entered for the From Meets Cycle, it will only update classes that meet on only Monday.

To run the tool, fill out From Meets Cycle and then To Meets Cycle appropriately.

Use the Update Meets Cycles on Subsections button to run the tool as described.

Use the Update Meets Cycles button to update the Meet Cycles on all subsections in the school to make sure the only Meet Cycles selected are ones where the course meets based off the rotating periods.

Backup Master Class Schedule

This tool is used to create a saved copy of the current master class schedule in place. Sections and Subsections are kept safely in place, so they may be re-loaded if any major issues happen to your master class schedule. We recommend running this tool prior to any mass change such as running the Update Meets Cycles tool above.

Click the Create Backup button to save your master schedule at this point in time.

Existing Backups will show previous backups of the schedule for this school year.

You may update the Description field with additional notes on why this backup was saved, for future reference.

NOTE: If a restore is needed for one of your saved backups, contact Genesis Support and indicate which of the backups should be restored.

Set Always Show this Teacher Flag on Subsections

This tool will set the "Always show this teacher when printing" checkbox on all subsections. Only handles sections that have two or more teachers.

Always show this teacher when printing is a subsection setting that forces the teacher's name to print on schedules and report cards, regardless of how many different teachers are in a class. To show ALL teachers of a class as a combined teacher, this checkbox should be set for ALL teachers of the class. See Subsection Options for more information on this setting.

Running this tool will ensure all co-taught sections display all teacher names of the class. Before running the tool, you may use the options to exclude certain course(s), department(s), etc.  Then, use the Update "Always show this teacher when printing" on Subsections button to run the tool.

Mass Set Teachers for Sections

This tool can be used to mass replace teachers of a course. It is helpful if you have one teacher who should be the newly assigned teacher for one or more sections of a course.

New Teacher:    Start by setting this to the new teacher you would like to assign to multiple sections. Note: Teacher can be left blank as a way to clear the teacher from the selected section(s).

Course Code:    Select the course to be updated

For Semester:    Optionally filter by a semester code (ex: FY, S1, Q2, etc)

For Sections:     Check off all sections to include in the update

Add current teacher as a Historic Teacher:     Optional checkbox to change the sections' current teacher(s) so they are no longer assigned to the section, and become a Historic Teacher instead. See Historic Teachers for more information on this.

Mass Remove Teachers for 202X-2X Sections

This will remove the teacher for all subsections for the selected course.
