Student Summary Settings for the Parent Portal

The Parent Access>Setup>Settings>School Settings>Student Summary screen contains various options for the Student Summary tab within the Parent Portal.

Some options used to be on the Parent Access>Setup>Settings>District Settings tab and have now been moved to the Parent Access>Setup>Settings>Student Summary tab.

Option	Notes
Only show courses that are currently meeting (Home & Gradebook)	If this is set to Yes, then only courses that are meeting in the current Marking Period will be shown on the Gradebook Summary screen and the Home screen. Prior to the start of school, a student's schedule as of the first day of school will be displayed.
Display Gradebook Assignments in Parents Module	If this is set to No, then the Gradebook screen will only display the students averages in there courses.
Display locker and Combination
Display Locker Location
Display Parking lot and Parking space
Hide students' date of birth
Show students' session (am/pm)
Display Students' School Name
Display Students' Family Code
Homeroom	Homeroom display can be changed on the Scheduling Settings screen. See Parent Access -> Setup -> Settings -> School Settings -> Scheduling for school-specific options.
Display Lunch Pin
Display Lunch Status
Display Lunch Balance
Display Counselor's E-mail	Make sure to also enable 'Show Counselor Name on Home' in the School Settings > Scheduling tab.
Display Case Manager if possible
Display Watermark text on Student photo	This will add a watermark text on top of the student's photo in the portal.

Question: Can we display a barcode or QR code within the Parent Portal on the Student Summary tab?

Yes. There is a "Display Students' Barcode on Student Summary screen" field, a "Barcode Font" field, and a "Barcode Type" field located on the Parent Access>Setup>Settings>District Settings tab. When this option is on, a barcode icon will be displayed on the Student Summary screen inside the parent portal. When the barcode icon is clicked, a barcode for the student will be generated. The "Barcode Font" field allows you set what barcode font to use and the "Barcode Type" field allows you to select either the Student ID or User Text when generating the barcodes.
