Getting Started with Exams in Gradebook

The Gradebook Spreadsheet's Exams Tab

The Genesis Gradebook's Gradebook>Gradebook spreadsheet screen contains an optional "Exams" tab.

This tab appears when the School has set up Exams, such as a MidTerm and a Final Exam, which will be collected by the Grading Module and printed on the students' Report Cards.

The Exams tab does not appear if there are no school Exams set up on the Grading>Setup>Collections screen.

Contents of the Exams Tab

The Exams tab contains a section for each school Exam that has been set up  on the Grading>Setup>Collections screen.

When Marking Period grading is open, and an Exam grade is being collected, a message is displayed for the appropriate exam:

Exams and Exam Sections

An Exam in the Gradebook is a bit like a miniature Marking Period: you can create multiple sections that are averaged together to produce the total Exam grade that is then reported to the Grading Module and will appear on the Report Card.
