Adding Custom Open Registration Questions
You can modify the Open Registration process by adding custom questions tailored for your School District.
This is done on the Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions screen.
Preparing to Create Custom Questions
Custom Open Registration Questions require either a User Flag or a User Text field be used to capture, store and make available the answer to a question.
The User Text field or the User Flag must exist before you can add the question, so step 1 is creating either a User Text field or a User Flag field.
Adding Questions to Open Registration
Procedure to Add a Custom Question to Open Registration
- Go to the Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions screen. Initially there are no questions on this screen:
- Click the Add Question button. This brings up the Add a Custom Question popup:
- Fill in the required information:
- Enter the question
- Select either a User Flag OR a User Text field. You may choose one or the other. The User Flag or User Text field must already exist.
- Optionally update the Sequence number: "Seq" controls the order in which the Custom Questions will appear in the list of questions both on the *Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions* screen screen and in Open Registration itself. Questions will always appear in "Seq" numerical order.
- To make the question visible, click the "Visible in Open Registration" checkbox.
- When the fields are filled out, click the Add Question button. This adds the question:
Procedure to Modify a Custom Question
- Go to the Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions screen. The list of existing questions will be displayed:
- Update the information for one or more of the questions. All the fields are editable.
- Click the Save Changes button.
Procedure to Hide or Show a Custom Question
- Go to the Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions screen. The list of existing questions will be displayed:
- Locate the question(s) you wish to check or uncheck the Visible in Open Registration checkbox for these.
- There is a new option to also show/hide the question on the Registration and Pre-Registration screens: Visible in Registration & Pre-Registration
- Click the Save Changes button to save your updates.
Procedure to Allow Question and Response to Print Out on Registration Ticket
- Go to the Registration>Open Reg>Custom Questions screen. There is a recently added option there which can be set for each question.
Check off Print Question and Response on Registration Ticket if you'd like it print out on the registration ticket as well.
