Detention and ISS Attendance Events

The "Detention" and "ISS" Events are designed to work with the "Detention" and "ISS" screen to take detention and in school suspension attendance:

When the Det or ISS checkbox is checked, the following features are turned on for the Event:

  • If a student checks into a "Det" Event on a day on which they are scheduled to serve a Detention, their Detention record is updated to indicate they have served it.
  • If a student checks into an "ISS" Event on a day on which they are scheduled to serve an In School Suspension, their ISS action record is updated to indicate that they have served the ISS.
  • This information is displayed via the "Completed" column on the Conduct→Detentions - Suspensions screen:

Detention Events - Configuring a Specific Type of Detention

If you are configuring a Detention Event, once you have created the Event, you will be able to specify the specific kind of Detention the Event will apply to.

A  icon will appear next to the checkbox in the "Det" Detention column identifying this as a 'detention event':

Clicking the  icon brings up a ''Select Detention Type for Detention" popup:
