Label Templates
Creating custom Label Templates is done on the Student Data>Labels>Templates screen. Shown below; is a visual representation of how the various parameters of a field template are used to "paint" labels onto a piece of paper.
Points
All Coordinates are expressed in points. There are 72 points to an inch. Position 0,0 of the coordinate plane is at the bottom left cornerr. Position 72,72 would be 1 inch up and right from the bottom left corner of the page. The position is expressed as X,Y.
Label Templates Screen
This is the screen where managing the label templates take places.
Adding a new template
Simply type in a name of the template you wish to create; optionally adjust the sequence in which it will appear in the list; and then click the Add a new label template button.
Deleting a template
Click the trash can icon next to the template you wish to delete.
Adjusting the parameters
The parameters are:
Parameter | Description |
Name | This is the name of the template. Once created; a name cannot be changed. The only way to change a name is to delete the template and create it again. |
Cols | Number of columns of labels that appear on this template |
Rows | Number of rows of labels that appear on this template |
Width | The width in points of an individual label |
Height | The height in points of an individual label |
Bottom Left X | The X coordinate bottom left corner of the bottom left most label on the page. |
Y | The Y coordinate bottom left corner of the bottom left most label on the page. |
Font Size | The size of the font that will be printed for this label |
Gap Width | The size in points of the horizontal space between two labels |
Seq | The sequence in which this template will appear in the list on various screens within Genesis. |
