Does Genesis Offer a Report Writing Service?

Can Genesis create customized reports for my district?

Genesis does not offer a service to create custom, localized reports.  We do offer the following services at no extra cost to the district:

Report Writing Tools

A comprehensive custom report creation module titled Report Writer. The Report Writer can be used to create complex reports based on student data, totals, and any saved data in Genesis.

Custom Reports Library 

An extensive library of existing custom Report Writer reports that have been developed over many years.  These can be downloaded, installed on your Genesis system, then either used as is or modified for local usage.  These can be found in the Custom Reports Library within the Genesis Knowledge Base.  All reports in the Custom Reports Library are free to download, can be run immediately after you install them, or deleted if they are not needed.

Customer Forums

An online discussion platform, where customers can post questions to other school districts from within the Support Portal. Just like the reports in the report library, custom reports can be shared between Genesis school districts. District A can perform a download, then send the report writer file to District B for them to install on Genesis as a finished report. Customers with access to support tickets may use the Discussion Forums to reach out to other Genesis school districts who may have already created the report you're looking for.

Technical Support 

For districts developing their own custom Report Writer reports that require assistance with a specific report. To access support, please enter a ticket specifying the report you are working on (ex: Attendance Module Report #991234), explaining what the report should be able to do, and what issue you have with it.  Genesis Help Desk staff will look at the report you are developing and offer suggestions and help for the further development of the report. Genesis Support will be unable to write the report for you.
