Passes & Pass Configuration
Pass Types
There are five types of passes:
- Attendance Check-In Pass
- Bus Pass
- Conference Pass
- Non-specified Student Data Pass
- Transportation Services Request (Pass)
Pass Configuration
There are two parts to configuring a pass:
- Creating the Pass Template that is used to create the physical pass.
- Configuring where are how to use the Template. There are multiple places in the system where a "pass template" must be specified
Pass Templates
Passes Templates are defined on the Setup→Schools→School Parameters→Passes screen:
Pass Template Components
Each Pass Template consists of three items:
- The PDF form on which the pass will be printed.
- The set of Macros to be printed on the form and their specific X, Y locations.
- The "Usage" flags specifying how the template is to be used.
The PDF form
This is simply a single-sheet PDF document. Genesis does not look for any additional structure in the PDF itself: the macros can be printed at any X, Y location on the PDF.
The PDF Form is uploaded into a Pass Templates on the the Setup→Schools→School Parameters→Passes→Modify screen (show below - the same screen on which the macros are specified).
The Macro List with X, Y Positions
The information to print on the Pass' PDF is specified by the list of "Field Macros"-that appear on the Setup→Schools→School Parameters→Passes→Modify Pass screen:
