Quick Search provides a fast way to navigate quickly to key elements of data within Genesis.
Most screens will let you type Alt+S to change the focus to the quick search box. Over time all of the screens will honor this keyboard shortcut.
There are several ways to search:
Student ID:
To search by student id, simply type a student id into the quick search bar and click the go button.
If the student ID exists, it will either bring you to the demographics page or your default student data page.
You can change your default student data page by clicking on the padlock icon in the toolbar.
Course:
To search for a course in the current school, type in c.courseCode. To search for course 101, you type c.101.
If the course is found; you will be brought to the scheduling.curriculum.curriculum.modify screen for that course.
Course Section:
To search for a section within a course, type in c.courseCode.sectionNumber. To search for section 2 of course 101, you key in c.101.2
If the section is found; you will be brought to the scheduling.sections.section screen for that section of the course.
